Upper Darby Historical Society

In 1984, the Upper Darby Historical Society was established with the goal of preserving historic sites, documents, monuments, and artifacts in Upper Darby Township. This society has been in existence ever since. The preservation and refurbishment of the Collen Brook Farm is currently a priority for the society, which is collaborating on this endeavor with the Township Council and the Upper Darby Historical Commission. In June of 1997, the mansion first opened its doors to guests. The Smith-Lewis Center for Local History is a house museum and educational research facility that the historical society is currently in the process of developing.

Lower Swedish Cabin is a historic log cabin in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, located on Creek Road in the Drexel Hill neighborhood along Darby Creek. The cabin was built in the Swedish style. It is possible that this cabin is one of the oldest log cabins in the United States, and it is certainly one of the last cabins built by Swedish settlers that has been preserved in its original state.

Founded on the 16th of October in 1999 Ellen Powell Tiberino was a well-known artist in Philadelphia, and her life and work are commemorated at the Ellen Powell Tiberino Memorial Museum.
