By using ovulation stimulation, the female ovaries will produce more eggs, and when it is time to retrieve them, there will be more than one. If the ovaries are ready, the egg and follicular fluid will be removed from them, using a thin, flexible needle that will be guided by an ultrasound. Patients are usually sedated during the process and are under the care of an anesthesiologist during this process. Then sperm from a man who has been in a relationship with another woman, or a donor, will fuse with the egg in a laboratory. Fertilization can occur naturally or via intracytoplasmic sperm injections (ICSI) into the woman's ovaries. After 3-6 days in culture, the embryo will either be transferred to the woman's uterus or kept frozen to be transferred later. It is while the embryo is maturing that pregnancy will occur.

Financial barriers are still the greatest barrier to accessing fertility services, unfortunately. While some states or employers offer excellent coverage, others may not. This means that for many, the cost IUI, IVF and Donor Eggs, Egg Freezing or Tubal Reversals as well as other treatments, remains a major factor in deciding their treatment plan. This is wrong and we are working to change it.

INVOcell is a fertilization alternative to traditional IVF and ICSI that allows fertilization and early embryonic development to happen “inside” the woman’s body. Sperm and eggs are placed inside a small device, inserted and left in a woman’s vagina for a few days.
A Frozen Embryo Transfer is the process of taking a frozen embryo that was cryopreserved from a previous IVF cycle, thawed, and transferred into a woman’s uterus. A variation of IVF for lesbian couples and transgender men that allows both partners to be intimately involved in the child creation process. One partner’s eggs the other partner’s womb!
